Ukraine increased exports of cattle and beef by 14.5% in January-October 2023

In October 2023, Ukraine increased the volume of chilled beef exports to 17 tons, which is 16 tons more than in September.

In general, in January–October 2023, Ukraine exported 15,470 tons of live cattle worth $24.41 million. This is 3% more than last year in physical volumes, but cash revenue for delivered animals decreased by 16%.

According to preliminary data of the state customs service of Ukraine, in October Ukraine exported 701 tons of live cattle, which is 61% less compared to September of this year.

Revenue for the delivered animals amounted to $982,100 and it decreased by 68% compared to the previous month.

In October 2023, Ukraine increased the volume of chilled beef exports to 17 tons, which is 16 tons more than in September. Cash revenue for the delivered goods increased to $60,800 (+85%). Compared to October last year, exports of fresh beef increased by 94% in natural volumes and by 93% in monetary terms.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has exported 192 tons of chilled beef, which is 9% more compared to January–October 2022. Revenue for delivered goods for 10 months of 2023 amounted to $715,900, which is 9% more than last year.

However, the natural volume of frozen beef exports decreased to 1,720 tons (-6%), while cash revenue for meat delivered decreased to $7.17 million. (-2%) compared to September 2023. Compared to October 2022, exports of frozen red meat increased by 11.4% in natural volumes and by 23.32% in value.

Although, in total, for 10 months of 2023, Ukraine exported 17,480 tons of frozen red meat, which is 36% more compared to last year's period. Export value in January–October 2023 amounted to $70.04 million, this is 24% more than last year.

Last month, Ukraine imported 65 tons of live cattle to Denmark. In January–October 2023, Ukraine imported 582 tons of cattle, which is 37% less than last year. Last month, imports of chilled beef increased to 17 tons (+39%), while frozen beef, on the contrary, decreased to 193 tons (-2%).

In JanuaryOctober 2023, imports of chilled beef decreased to 115 tons (-125%), while frozen red meat increased to 1,700 tons (+64%).
