Azerbaijan Restores Access for U.S. Beef
As USMEF reported last year, Azerbaijan suspended access for U.S. beef effective May 30, 2023. This action was presumably related to the atypical BSE case confirmed earlier that month in a beef cow tested at a slaughter plant in South Carolina.
The FSIS Export Library for Azerbaijan has now been updated to reflect restored access for U.S. beef and beef products, provided the product is certified on or after Jan. 16, 2024. Any product certified between May 30, 2023 and Jan. 16, 2024 remains ineligible.
