The Spring Conference agenda is full of timely and informative topics. Wednesday’s opening general session will feature Peter Zeihan – geopolitical analyst, author and speaker – who will combine his expert understanding of demography, economics, energy, politics, technology and security to help you prepare for an uncertain future.

Thursday’s general session will focus on the current state of agricultural trade relations between the U.S. and China. Longtime Iowa governor Terry Branstad, who recently served as U.S. ambassador to China, will join Joel Haggard, USMEF senior vice president for the Asia Pacific, to examine the significant gains achieved in Phase One of the U.S.-China Economic and Trade Agreement and discuss ongoing efforts to secure opportunities for further growth in the world’s largest meat import market.

During Friday’s closing session, you will hear about creative programs USMEF has designed in emerging markets to not only increase the exports of U.S. red meat, but also expand the range of U.S. red meat cuts available in wet markets and butcher shops.

In addition to the general sessions, the Beef, Pork, Exporter and Feedgrain/Oilseed breakouts will provide in-depth discussion on topics relevant to each sector. Registrants are welcome and encouraged to participate in all breakouts, regardless of membership sector.

With a spectacular location directly on the River Walk that overlooks the historic Alamo mission, Hyatt Regency San Antonio is surrounded by a large variety of restaurants, bars, shops and tourist attractions. Just a short drive from the airport, the hotel offers a rooftop pool, fitness center and spa.
