Training Programs Reach Importers, Distributors and Retailers in Costa Rica

The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) expanded its educational and training activities in Costa Rica, reaching importers, distributors and retail professionals with a series of programs focused on U.S. red meat.

The training sessions highlighted product quality, safety, handling and merchandising best practices for U.S. beef and pork. Participants also received guidance on menu applications, value-added cuts and strategies to better meet consumer expectations in Costa Rica’s growing protein market.

USMEF noted that Costa Rica remains an important destination for U.S. red meat, with demand supported by the foodservice sector and modern retail channels.

By investing in hands-on education and technical support, USMEF aims to strengthen relationships across the supply chain and help trade partners maximize opportunities for U.S. beef and pork.

According to USMEF, training initiatives such as these play a key role in reinforcing confidence in U.S. products and ensuring that importers, distributors and retailers are well equipped to communicate quality attributes and usage advantages to end customers.
