A group of importers of American beef from the CIS region visited the meat processing plant in USA

For the first time in seven years, a group of importers of American beef from the CIS region visited the Greater Omaha Packing (GOP) plant in Omaha, Nebraska.

The group includes importers from five countries in the region: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.

During the visit, participants learned about carcass grading, cutting, trimming, packaging, and new products that the plant has started producing for international markets.

The group’s itinerary also includes a visit to the Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, as well as training through the BEEF 101 program at West Texas A&M University in Amarillo, Texas.

The delegation is accompanied by representatives of the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), Galina Kochubeeva and Yuri Barutkin.
