U.S. Beef Featured at the U.S. Independence Day Reception in Astana, Kazakhstan
The U.S. Embassy in Astana celebrated the 250th anniversary of American Independence with an official reception on July 2, bringing together senior officials of Kazakhstan, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and representatives of the cultural and educational communities to celebrate the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
U.S. Ambassador Julie M. Stufft reflected on the significance of the 250th anniversary of American Independence, while Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov attended the celebration as an honored guest.
The evening highlighted key moments in American history. Diplomats appeared in period costumes portraying several of the Founding Fathers, including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, while a museum exhibition featuring photographs and artwork illustrated the story of the nation's path to independence.
The cultural program included a performance by the Arizona National Guard Band, combining American rock, funk, rhythm and blues with popular Kazakh melodies. Guests also enjoyed performances by the Children's Choir of the Samgau Art Studio of the Astana Opera National Theater and students of the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, who presented selections from the musical Hamilton in the Kazakh language.
USMEF, together with Premium Foods, the importer of U.S. beef in Kazakhstan, partnered in the reception by providing smoked U.S. Beef Brisket. The brisket was prepared by the chefs of Smoked Beef Café, while the catering team of The Ritz-Carlton Astana carved and served it to guests.
More than 300 guests attended the reception and highly praised the smoked U.S. Beef Brisket.
