Kyrgyzstan produces 90,000 tons of meat and 262,100 tons of milk in January-March: Agriculture Ministry

Kyrgyzstan produced 90,000 tons of meat in live weight for the first 3 months of the year, which is 1.7% more than the corresponding period of the previous year. This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

 

According to the ministry, the increase in meat production in the republic is due to the increase in the number of livestock and poultry.
The number of cattle in comparison with the last year increased by 51,862 heads, sheep and goats - by 90174 heads, horses - by 17355 heads and poultry increased by 99,279 heads.

In January-March 2019, 262.1 thousand tons of milk were produced in the republic, which is 6175 tons or 2.4% more than the same period last year. The increase in milk production is due to the increase in the number of cows compared with the previous year by 22,800 heads.

During the reporting period, 113600 thousand eggs were produced in the republic, the growth rate was 110% compared to the corresponding period last year. The growth of egg production in the republic is due to an increase in the population of laying hens compared to last year by 151,618 heads.
