Kazakhstan boosts beef exports 270%

In January-November 2018 Kazakhstan’s meat producers exported 16,100 tons of beef, 2,900 tons of mutton, 1,100 tons of pork and 7,600 tons of poultry, the Ministry of Agriculture told Interfax-Kazakhstan.

“About 60% of beef was exported to Russia and the other 40% to Uzbekistan as live stock for slaughtering. Mutton was chiefly exported to the Middle East (Iran, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates), pork to Russia, poultry to Russia (50%) and the rest to the CIS states (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan) and the Customs Union states,” the Ministry said.

In the same period of 2017, Kazakhstan exported 4,400 tons of beef (5,500 in 2017), 600 tons (900 tons) of mutton, 600 tons (700 tons) of pork and 5,200 tons (5,800 tons) of poultry.

Thus, exports of beef soared 270% in the eleven month of the current year, mutton 380%, pork 80% and poultry 50%.
