The country's Foreign Ministry took up the export of Mongolian meatOpening the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs N. Enkhtaivan noted that despite an increase in livestock by an average of 5 million head per year, reaching more than 70 million head of livestock, Mongolia has not yet become a meat exporting country. He also stressed the importance of increasing meat exports to the northern and southern neighboring countries in the near future, and in the future to supply to the countries of ASEAN and the Middle East.

"It is necessary to work with a single policy of increasing exports and of Mongolian meat entering the global market as an environmentally friendly product. Actions and activities dictated by small interests will negatively affect the reputation and economic benefits of export-oriented products, "he said.

Representatives of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Main Directorate of Professional Inspection, the Main Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Standardization and Metrology and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia made reports and agreed to develop an urgent plan to resolve relevant issues discussed at the meeting.

The Export Support Council was created in 2019 by order of the Prime Minister to coordinate intersectoral activities for the implementation of the Mongolian Export program, approved by a government decree in 2018. The Council is chaired by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Industries.
